Devise A Plan
All good things start with a plan – especially moving home! Whether it’s checklists, diagrams or lists, be organized in advance with a visible and tangible plan that will guide you through each of the moving steps.
Leave It Behind
If you aren’t 100% sure if you can see a particular item in your new home, leave it behind. Larger items such as furniture and kitchen white goods are cumbersome and cheap to replace. Therefore, if you don’t think it’ll fit in in your new home or it could do with an upgrade, get rid of it.
Enlist as Much Help as Possible
Sometimes, it can be difficult to ask for help. However, you can usually rope friends and family into helping you with a move if you put on some snacks for them. After all, they won’t mind helping if they know it removes a little stress from you. If you have kids, get them involved too by giving them tasks to do throughout the packing process.
Wrap, Mark, and Label
There’s nothing worse than arriving at your new home after a move and not being able to find what you’re looking for. Therefore, we suggest wrapping your items for protection, marking them to identify where they should go, and accurately labeling your boxes so that you know what’s inside.
