Many new homes come with a white goods package which means that you won’t need to lug your existing white goods to your new home. Instead, you could recycle, sell or donate any unneeded white good items.
A big move is a fantastic opportunity to climb deep inside that wardrobe and clean it out properly. Maybe the storage is limited at your new place or maybe those sequin flare jeans are no longer in fashion. Either way, pack what you need and what you still wear and donate the rest. As the old adage goes, one mans rubbish is another mans treasure.
Many homes have a cupboard that is stuffed to the brim of mis-matched bedding. If you have one of these, use the opportunity of a move to work through it and match what you can. If you have odds and ends and don’t see yourself using them at your new home, be scrupilious and get rid of them. You can either donate or sell any unwanted bedding.
4. Old Furniture
You may have bagged yourself a great package deal with you new home with some new furniture included in the price. If so, get rid of those old shabby pieces that collect clutter. By all means, if you intend on upcycling your furniture, go for it, if not, take it to the skip, sell it or donate it.
5. Bathroom Items
You’ll be surprised to learn that a lot of what is in your bathroom cupboard is probably expired. Therefore, get rid of anything that you no longer use or is past the safe to use date.
