What is the FMWA?

FMWA regulatedFor many years now, increasing number of moving companies misrepresent themselves which is why the FMWA was established in 1979. It is the job of the FMWA to ensure moving companies are above board and follow the regulations in place.

What Does FMWA Stand For?

FMWA stands for Florida’s Moving and Warehousemen’s Association. This nonprofit trade association monitors the services of warehouses and moving companies throughout the entire state of Florida.  In the early 70’s, individuals became concerned that the state legislature and other regulatory bodies were adopting inconsistent and unnecessary standards in order to govern the industry. Now that members of FMWA follow a comprehensive code of ethics and are committed to the highest standards, the moving and warehousing industry is protected to a certain extent.
